“See this guy? He’s only one of the most original and profoundly satisfying artists around today.”

Hear the song and get a first look at the title and cover HERE. “Today Glide is excited to offer an exclusive premiere of the new tune “Throw My Cane Away,” a clear standout on the album that fully captures Bramblett’s devotion to a New Orleans soul sound with a nod to one of its musical heroes. Indeed, the “Mac” mentioned in the song is none other than Dr. John as Bramblett and his band lay down a swirling mix of soul, R&B, and funk to keep the song bouncing and grooving along. …Ultimately, this seems like the exact song that the great Dr. John himself would record, and Bramblett is clearly paying a deeper homage than just referencing him in the lyrics.”

The incomparable Bettye LaVette has recorded an album of 11 of my songs (with some co-writes with Davis Causey). Released in June, 2023. Steve Jordan (super-producer, drummer currently with the Rolling Stones) recorded and produced all the tracks at Electric Lady Studios in NYC where I cut my first record, That Other Mile. Steve Winwood, John Mayer, Jon Batiste, Larry Campbell and many more great musicians play on this. Needless to say, I'm thrilled and honored.
