HI folks. I hope you’re having a fine, long hot summer. I’ve been practicing a lot for the Steve Winwood tour in September. It’s been so many years since I’ve played all those great songs and I need to catch up (especially on flute). He’s one of the greats and one of my heroes too. We’ll be mostly in NY, New England and down the coast to Florida. (Tour dates here) Gotta get my bus legs together!

We’re playing two shows this weekend now that Nick is back from all the Panic gigs out west. This Friday we’ll be at the High Cotton in Hartwell, GA, a really nice listening room downtown. It's sold out, but you can see if there is a waiting list.
Saturday night we’ll be in the historic 40 Watt in Athens for the first time in many years. It’s a really beautiful club that has become a locally owned classic. We’ve been playing the Foundry for a long time because we could start earlier there. Now the 40 Watt is having early shows (8pm) and providing seating too! I’m excited to be back there again. We’ll be playing some songs that we haven’t done in a long time. Still some tickets available. Come out and enjoy yourself in this magical setting. Get tickets here.
Much love to all and stay cool.

Hi folks. We hope you all are having a good year so far. My once broken arm is coming along nicely and I’m playing my usual instruments again. On the January Sandy Beaches cruise (which was very much fun) I was limited to keys and a dicey left hand. Thanks to Nick for covering for me in that area. We picked up a lot of fans who had never heard us before.

Speaking of Nick, he’s been playing with Widespread Panic in Jimmy Herring’s absence and doing a fine job. Those are some big shoes to fill and Nick is the one to do it. Thankfully Panic is not playing long runs, so the RBB will grab Nick when he’s home for our shows.
Speaking of home, Nick and I will be playing the beautiful Rialto Room at the Hotel Indigo here in Athens on Thursday with my Strolling Bones label mate and roots/blues master, Jontavious Willis. (Tickets here) 8pm. He is the real deal! This will be a show to remember, I promise. Saturday our band (with Nick) is at our home away from home, Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. (Tickets here) Come out and celebrate with us, 7:15pm show.

It’s my 50th year of making records and I’m so glad to still be sharing my music with y’all. See you this week, I hope!

The New Year is starting off busy and I'm not letting one broken arm get in the way. Thanks for the strong support for our rescheduled Big Band show Saturday, it was a great night. Here's a link to the audio of the entire show, thanks to Z-Man!

Thursday is the start of a short Residency at the Hotel Indigo's Rialto Room in Athens. It gives me a chance to work with some amazing musicians for a unique show together. Jan. 8 will be Mike Mattison, best known for his work in the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Great singer and songwriter, he wrote “Midnight in Harlem and co-wrote ”Bound for Glory" for TTB. It's also an album release for him, Turn a Midnight Corner, the first stop of his national tour. His guitarist, Dave Yoke, will join us along with Nick Johnson.
All Residency shows are Thursdays, 8pm, seated:
Jan. 8 - Mike Mattison - TIX
Feb. 19 - Jontavious Willis - TIX
Mar. 5 - Murray Attaway - TIX

Right after the Rialto show, my band heads off to sea on the Sandy Beaches Cruise to the Caribbean! We join great bands like Lyle Lovett, Little Feat, the California Honeydrops, Jimmy Hall, LeRoy Parnell and many more. The boat has been sold out for many months, it should be an adventure! I'll report back.
Cheers to 2026,
Randall
